Success Story
Zoe Wiggan, Senior Application Developer
Joined LexisNexis Visualfiles in 1999 as a Trainee Business Analyst
After completing my degree in Business Information Technology, I applied for a graduate training position with LexisNexis Visualfiles. I was accepted and I joined the company as a Trainee Business Analyst in September 1999.
I spent my first six months working in a small team with other new graduates, where we were given time to develop our software skills whilst creating applications for Conveyancing and Debt Collection.
In April 2000 I was given the opportunity of joining the Professional Services Department as a Trainee Consultant. This was a really varied and challenging role which enabled me to develop applications in a variety of different environments including law firms, government and financial organisations. I designed and delivered training courses, carried out business analysis and provided consultancy to help our customers implement the Visualfiles product in their organisations. During my time in the department I progressed from Trainee Consultant to Consultant and then to Senior Consultant.
In May 2005 after five years in the Professional Services Department I successfully applied for a position in the Product Development Team and I am now a Senior Application Developer. In this role I get to work with the latest releases of Visualfiles software. My job is to look at the best ways of implementing them to get the most out of the new features. I am also responsible for developing the graduate training program for the new starters and mentoring them during their first few months with the company.
